The CONCEPT-50 is a connected, autonomous anemometer-wind vane designed to accurately measure wind and view data remotely.
It uses a renowned sensor from Davis Instruments.
Designed for professional and community use, the CONCEPT-50 is particularly suitable for paragliding and hang-gliding clubs, water sports centres, harbour master's offices, local authorities, farmers and organisers of outdoor events requiring reliable, real-time wind measurements.
The CONCEPT-50 measures the following variables:
- Average wind speed over the measurement period (default 10 minutes)
- Gusts, corresponding to the maximum wind speed over the period
- Minimum wind speed over the measurement period
- Average wind direction
Wind speed and direction are recorded every 2.25 seconds, ensuring excellent sensor responsiveness, even during rapid wind changes.
The speed sensor is based on a Hall effect sensor, while wind direction is measured by a variable resistor, technologies that are proven and recognised for their long-term reliability.
Sensor and available options
By default, the CONCEPT-50 is equipped with the Davis Instruments 6410 anemometer-wind vane.
On request, it is possible to choose:
- the Davis Instruments 7911 anemometer, replacing the 6410 (at no extra cost)
- the Davis Instruments 6415 ultrasonic anemometer (additional cost on quotation)
Power supply and housing
The CONCEPT-50 comes with a communication housing equipped with a solar panel and a rechargeable battery. The anemometer-wind vane is completely self-contained and can be installed away from any power source.
Online data on MétéoData
The data measured by the weather station can be viewed in real time and is archived on our Météodata web platform. Updates are made every 10 minutes.
The platform allows you to:
- view a dashboard of instantaneous and extreme values
- view tables and graphs for past periods
- view maps of the values from your sensor(s) and other sensors in the community
- create email and/or SMS alerts when configurable thresholds are exceeded
- export your data in CSV, Excel or other formats
- access our API to link your data to your website or various applications.
Communication networks and coverage
The CONCEPT-50 transmits its data via:
- the Orange LoRa® network (by default), available in mainland France and Réunion, subject to coverage by the Orange LoRa® network. https://www.orange-business.com/fr/reseau-iot
- a WIFI/LAN internet connection through the purchase of a LoRa gateway (on quotation) - Radio range of approximately 400 metres.
- the Bouygues Telecom NB-IoT network (upon prior request; the technology cannot be changed after the order has been shipped), available in mainland France, subject to coverage by the Bouygues Telecom NB-IoT network. https://objenious.com/couverture-iot-france/
