If the sensor suite (ISS) in your Vantage Pro 2 weather station is no longer transmitting data to your console, or only during the day, the capacitor in your ISS may be failing. During the day, the solar panel powers the ISS and charges a capacitor at the same time. This capacitor has a large capacity (10 Farads) and works like a rechargeable battery. At night, the capacitor slowly discharges to power the ISS. If your capacitor has leaks or deposits on the positive side, it is most likely faulty.
